PRE-PRODUCTION DAY 3

Today we finally got our walls/window looking how we wanted it. I mixed water with coffee granules and with a damp paintbrush washed over certain parts of the wall to make it look damp/smoke ridden. I also followed down some of the wallpaper creases with a dark brown to try and simulate cracks in the wall.

We also burnt the curtains that we had bought previously and I put coffee all over these as well to give them an old look.

BURNT AND STAINED CURTAINS

Dalena attached the shelf and Chris painted it. Brock added the 'anarchy symbol'. We felt that this symbol fitted with the character profile we had created for the boy (who will be played by chris).

ANARCHY SYMBOL

We had all tried really hard to get an arm chair over the past 2 weeks but no matter how much bargaining we did we still couldn't get one for under £30 (and our budget was £25...). It was then that Susannah suggested we make an arm chair. She got lots of materials out and hung them over boxes, it actually looked really good and was exactly the look we were going for. We will probably re-do the chair on the day of the shoot but this is the general look we are going for.

This is how our set looked after the third session of pre-production.
